The "International Mezze Festival", held by the Akra Hotels for the fourth time this year, was experienced bitterly due to the firedamp explosion that has occurred in Bartin and deeply saddened the whole country. The event, for which tickets were refunded to the participants of the festival and all programs were cancelled, ended with the "tasting", whereby the mezzes were served only to the press members, and the presentation of plaques.
The fourth International Mezze Festival, in which numerous worldwide known restaurants and chefs participate every year and tasty mezzes are offered and which tests the pulse of the world of gastronomy, was cancelled following the tragic news received from Bartin.
The tickets of hundreds of gastronomy and delicacy lovers, who would participate in the event that was scheduled to be held on October 15 in the garden of the Akra Hotels in Antalya, were refunded.
Only the "Tasting Meeting Exclusive to the Press" was Held… The chefs, all of which are estimable and who have arrived Türkiye from all four corners of the world for the 4th International Mezze Festival, held in Antalya, served the mezzes they have made for the festival only to the press members who arrived the city to follow the event, as part of the "exclusive tasting meeting" following the tragic news received from Bartin in the same day. The 4th Mezze Festival, for which none of the events and activities covered by the program was held, ended upon the presentation of plaques to the participant restaurants and chefs and the family photo following the serving of the mezzes by the chefs.
The 4th Mezze Festival Shares the Sorrow of the Miners Stating that they cancelled the event due to the tragic news received from Bartin while they were looking forward to bringing those who seek new tastes, love gastronomic travels together at a huge table accompanied by pleasant conversations, Mr.Gokhan Polat, the General Manager of Akra Hotels said; "Following the tragic news received from Bartin, we decided to cancel our 4th International Mezze Festival, for which we have been getting prepared elaborately at a great extent for a long while, and also to refund the tickets of our participants. We limited the event to the exhibition of the preparations made by the restaurants and chefs who have arrived from Türkiye and various locations worldwide, and having their products tasted by the visiting press members, and we ended the event with the presentation of plaques to the restaurant participants, and a family photo.
The 4th Mezze Festival, which hosted outstanding chefs and restaurants from distinguished destinations not only in Türkiye but also in the World in addition to Ruben Arnanz, Thanınthorn Chantrawan, the Michelin-starred chefs, was this year attended by Afitap from Ankara, Akra, 7 Mehmet, TheLifeCo and Parlak from Antalya, Cal Pep from Barcelona, Chim from Thailand, Le Pecheur from Beirut, Bagarasi from Bodrum, Yalova Restaurant from Canakkale, Girida from Fethiye, Hisvahan from Gaziantep, Konak from Hatay, Balikci Sebahattin and Feriye from Istanbul, Balmumu from Izmir, Chayote from Kas, and Orloff from Greece with their mezzes, all of which were picturesque.
